Well, Monday night, anyways......

Up here in the "Frozen North", we haven't had any ice in the local rinks since the beginning of May. It truly has been hell.:o

The last time I stepped on the ice was the Strathroy Clinic by Keeks for the ****. I had a great time hanging out with Rockhell, Bat-Goalie, Goalieboy29, Law Goalie, Hockeywall33, Stevie-D and DaRedFox.

I have been waiting anxiously ever since to get back on the ice, and try and remember everything that Keeks taught me.

Hopefully, I can take what I learned, and use it to rob my buddies at the weekly skate. There is no Men's league here until Sept., so weekly pickup is the only option. The good news is that I may be able to pick up 2-3x a week, so I'll be back in prime shape (round is a shape, right?) by the time Men's league opens up again.

I'll keep you updated as the weeks go by, and we'll see if I can actually put into pratice the theory.

I have a bad habit at open pick-up of trying things I wouldn't normally do, (two pad stacks, running out to the blue line for a loose puck) and the motivation factor goes way down, (as the goals don't count, who cares) but now that I've recognized that trait, I hope to correct it, and become at least a little more consistent, which should translate into better showings when it does count.......
