I bought a set of used Battram gloves (I dont know what model they are but Ive included an image). I have played 5 games with them in the past week and a half and cant get used to the catcher. It feels like the pocket is too small, last night I found that if I jamb three fingers in the last opening and my index finger over one spot it feels a bit better. But I am still having a tough time catching the puck, I knock it down more than I catch it.

Now I realize my old catcher was old spec and is much larger than my new glove. My old gloves were just cheap Mission Motion gloves, so the new gloves have wayyy more protection.

Is this just me trying to get used to the new sizes of the gloves or is there a fix? Can I get a larger pocket installed?

It more than likely is just getting used to a different set of gloves, and getting them broken in. When getting a used set of gloves, its hard to tell what has been done with them etc...

Luckily I have 4 more games in the next week and a half, so I will keep trying to get used to them.

Would it be possible to get a patch made or replace the part of the gloves that have the previous owners name? Not a big deal. But I am in the Woodstock area this weekend till monday, so if it is something that could be done easily...

And one more thing, what is the model of these gloves?

Wear them about the house.

Maybe use the steamer to "mold" the internals to your hand.

Couple ideas that may help you get used to them quicker.

Would unpicking the name embroidery leave a mess?

I was thinking about "unpicking" them, but I think it would make a mess. I used a sharpie and made it black against the black leather, but I can still see it.

On the blocker its a little more difficult to change, but on the catcher we can make a new cuff piece and change it, and you wouldnt even know...

The blocker can be dont but we would need to place a patch over it.

All this could be done while you wait.

Ha! You bought thatkidrayray's gloves? I bought his pads. I've only worn them for 2 games so far but I like them a lot. I didn't realize that "Ray Ray" was embroidered on the pads until I got them. My teammates made fun of me the first time I wore the pads. If your name is Ray then the embroidery works. When your name is Mike, your teammates make fun of you :) I can live with it but if anyone knows a good way to remove embroidery, let us know! I was going to try the seam splitter but it seems like it will take forever and I am not sure if it will even work.
