I just broke down and aquired a home tens machine...it's portable, multiple functions, and kinda cool to play with...
just don't use the manipluation mode on too high a power-I tried it on my forearm, and my wrist bent to maximum flexion...then my fingers started to twitch on thier own...FREAKY!!
But my knees feel so much better after a 15 minute session!!
oh yeah-they have yet to pass the med boards for approval in the US, so you can only get them from overseas.
( I await the jokes, cause resistance is futile!! LOL ):D:p

He must be referring specifically to the machine that he acquired as there have been a number available in the states for years.

Are we talking about these types of devices??
Electrotherapy Devices — TENS Unit, Muscle Stimulator, Interferential Units, Microcurrent devices can help control pain! (http://www.medicalproductsonline.org/electrotherapy2.html?gclid=COKJm424upQCFQOeFQod-lIMUQ)
Some good deals there! 699.00 on sale for 59 bucks???? Looks like there was a time when these things made some big profits for the sellers!!
Let me understand, you put it on your arm and your knee feels better???
Maybe I need one of those for neck!

LOL!!
The portable one I have is not much bigger than a remote control for your tv. I used to get treatments from a unit, but it was the size of a medium suitcase.
I tried it out first on my arm...just to test it out and see what it can do for such a small unit...8 modes of treatment, and 15 levels of intensity.
I use it regularly on both knees. Nice, compact, and fits in your pocket...but only two pads... : (

Mine was like the Micro ll there.
It was the size of a pack of smokes.
Worked pretty good for my lower back.
I used to have it on when I was working.
