In the most constructive way possible - your rebound control isn't so stellar.

I only watched about 1/4 of the video (the point where you smashed your stick on the cross bar), but there was even one that went off the glass and you barely looked for it and the guy put it in.

During the drills we were told to focus on just the first shot. I have talked to people and they have all told me my rebound control looks brutlal from that video and I know this. All the shots are coming from the slot and it is pretty difficult to control those rebounds as well. I've decided to take down the video because I don't think it was a fair representation of me. I will have a new one in a week when i go to Jon Elkins.

you might not consider it fair representation, but instincts would have made you want to control those rebounds more.... constructive criticism isnt easy to take, but its better in the end to know some of your flaws to work on so that you may improve.

you didnt look bad in the video.... I think maybe you had some bad coaching.... Ive never heard of any coach just say... dont worry about rebounds. If you are the type of goalie that can make that first save 98% of the time, then the rebounds are your next biggest concerning. Placing shots to the corners or away from the danger zone...

Trust me, I know my rebound control is brutal in the video. Its not usually like that ( if you watch towards the end of the video i do control them somewhat better). I also spend a lot of time standing around which doesnt look good either. If ice wasnt so expensive around here I'd rent some and take out a camera. Hopefully I can get some when i go to Elkins.

If you're going to post video of yourself that isn't flawless, be prepared for constructive criticism. Making excuses defeats the learning process. "Focus on the first shot" is a cop out because rebound control should be part of your focus on your initial shot. If you had been able to smother a rebound rather than let it drop in front of you, you wouldn't have had to worry about the 2nd shot being buried in. Try reading Keeks's article on rating your rebounds. It's very well thought out and will elevate your game if you focus on it.
