I haven't been on the ice since May, got all new gear, skates are ephed up and the ice is mushy... could it be any more fun?! :p
I met Chadillac ( Chad from G S B B ) to work with him on some basics and also get a chance to video myself with the new gear, since I was having over-rotation problems. I think I have it about 95% worked out, taking all of the slack out of the toe ties and cinching down the ankle and boot straps.
I've always worn my previous pads loose so they WOULD rotate, but these seem to do it fine with the ankle strap and boot strap pretty tight. I might make a small mod to the sliding bridge... since there's no point in it sliding to the outside past the center, only to the inside. That should help keep the boot centered on my leg, too.
Other than that I'm really happy with them. They feel great, are super light, and the colors look awesome!
:D

I like the Color scheme on the pads they look pretty sweet, I'd be lucky if I didn't fall flat on my face doing some of the moves you did out there lol, so good job :)

I wanted to see what I was doing from the rear... mechanics, how my skates were angled to the ice, etc.
Stop staring at my butt! :o

Hey dude i thought you looked really good. Just a few things: make sure to keep that chest straight when you are bflying, also if you have time try to work on your cardio because at parts of the video you look really gassed, also when you are bflying or in your stance it is really important that you have "quiet" hands and are not flining them around, make sure when you are bfly sliding that the stick stays on the ice which goes hand in hand with keeping your hands still. Overall you did a good job, your movement was solid and everything looked to be good, if you want to take your game to the next level though try to incorparate some of what i said.

Everything looked great....OR you could work on the twenty things I found wrong.....

Go for it.... that's why I posted it.
For starters, yes.... my sorry ass is out of shape. I've been golfing too much this summer, not enough time on the ice or at the gym.
Secondly, I'm an excellent skater, so shuffling and crease movement is good.
My problems are recovery and glove positioning when I'm getting up and down. It's hard to demonstrate what I'm doing in a game versus what I'm doing in front of a camera with no puck coming at my noggin. :p
I know that when I get "winded" ( thanks for pointing that out... jackass! :p), I get lazy, so I sit down too much and my hands flail when I drop and recover.
Anything else?
Keep in mind I've only been playing net with any regularity since September 2005. Also, this was more of a "do these pads work for me" vid than a "what am I doing wrong?" vid... but feel free to toss out any constructive criticism.

I was just teasing the post I quoted.......My opinion is you look as good as one can when in front of a camera, and not actually playing in a game.

Welcome to Gary Bettman's NHL Goalie rules for the 2010-2011 season... headgear of any kind is banned, and you can't actually stand in front of the net anymore. :p

I am thinking those two rules work....as I wouldn't want to be standing in front of the net without the headgear!

Sadly, Chelios still won't be able to score. :p

Well i thought he looked good, but there were some things to work on. There isn't a goalie today in the game that doesn't need to work on something, improvement is continual strides. If you look thru the whole thread i was the only oen that actually gave him some real advice that he could actually use.

True.....you are also the only one that didn't understand the original premise of the post...or so it seems.
Timmaayy has been fun loving enough to not get butt hurt that his thread turned into an evaluation of his positioning skills. Your advice is most likely good, and so Timmaayy gets unintended benefits from the post.
