Sadly, as many know by now, the goalie equipment world has lost a great person. I was fortunate enough to have met Brian in person back in 2001 and can tell you not only was he a great "goalie guru" but an even better human being. Brian will be missed by many. I picked up several tips that he offered up, but the most important thing he told me was no matter what, always be sincere to your customers.

Late of Kingsville, formerly of Harrow. Beloved husband and best friend of Sally (Smith) for 28 years. Loving father of Marshall and Kimberly Heaton, Ryan Heaton and Stephanie Heaton, Kingsville. Loving grandpa of Henry. Beloved son of Hubert Heaton, Harrow and the late Marion (Snider) (2001). Dear brother of Sandra and Jim Brown, Harrow, Ann Heaton, Windsor. Wonderful "Uncle B" to several nieces and nephews Brian was an avid baseball and hockey enthusiast. Brian was an innovator and designer since 1972 at Cooper Canada and returned home to Harrow to continue to design and manufacture goalie equipment with Brian's, Heaton and BHG. Known throughout the sporting good industry as the "Goalie Guru". Brian and Sally enjoyed together their most recent passion breeding, training, and exhibiting of reining horses since 1999. Visitation at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W. Harrow Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Brian's life will be held at Harrow United Church 45 Munger St. E. Harrow on Monday September 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Steadman officiating. Interment at Colchester Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Windsor Regional Cancer Centre.
