Here we go again! Today kicked off the start of my Sunday league where I play for the Vikings. My first real game in about 6 weeks. We won 3-0 vs. Ice Pack who last year always kicked our butt. I really noticed a huge difference in my agility and speed, especially when cutting across the net, which resulted in some sick saves :) I'm down 36 pounds and counting.
Shutout count = 1 :)
My season on Wednesdays with the Chimeras starts this week as well.

Last Wednesday I played 2 games, one for the Pirates which we won 5-0, and then for the Chimeras we lost 2-1. I didn't feel quite as sharp, I blame it on still getting used to the looseness of all my gear now heh.
Yesterday with the Vikings again we won 2-0 vs. the Wolverines.
4 games, 3 shutouts so far. Not a bad start to the season.

Great job! I could stand to lose about 20 pounds. I really need to get my conditioning better. Nice work with all the shutouts! I wish I could post a few more, but at the level we play at it's pretty tough. We face C1 and some B level teams...makes for fast action and kicks my butt.
Good luck the rest of your season!

Thanks very much everybody :)
Tonight got 2 more notches in the W category. Won both games 4-1. Played for my Chimeras vs. Delics, and the Pirates vs. Ragtime.
The Pirates seemed to have found themselves a regular goalie, so my paid gig look like its up. Was good while it lasted though!

Hey thanks alot Josh!
Im down 45 pounds now. This is awesome.
Played a game yesterday, my team was by far superior - I had hardly anything to do... so of course we won 2-0.
I was almost complaining to my team that I had nothing to do haha. They told me not to worry, that later in the season I'll get it.
So far my Vikings team is 3-0-0, 0 GAA.

So this past Wednesday my Chimeras team played Feline Frenzy. This team should be in the top division of our league, as they were all literally skating circles around my team. Anyhow, we ended up losing 2-0. I was very busy all game, most of it was in our end.
Today my Vikings team was handed our first loss of the season, and my shutout streak was broken. We played the Hailstones - a very very good team, lost 2-1. I was kept busy all game as well, and the 2 goals that went in were very good shots. First one was from one of those ping-pong plays and the shot was a bullet that cleanly beat me past my glove side. The 2nd goal in on me was another beautiful shot that came on their power play, skimmed the top of my shoulder and went in just under the crossbar. It was a very good game, I liked the speed this team brought and the challenging shots and plays they put on me. I look forward to when we play them again!
Today's game was played with my new Mckenney pro-spec (size SMALL!!!) C/A. I think I love this thing. Its very protective, and I love the mobility and flex with the arms. With my GKP on I could not touch the back of my head with my hands. With the new C/A I can. Its just a shame that its white in colour... its going to look gross very soon. AH well what can you do..

Last night I played 2 games again. Filled in for a team called the Delics, played against Orange Crush. Very even game, we tied 1-1.
Then my Chimeras team played the 11:20pm game (UGH). We had myself and 6 skaters. The other team (Banshees) had a full bench but no goalie. Again, a very even game, we won 1-0. Yay for shutouts! :D

Missed playing on Sunday with the Vikings cuz of head injury stuff.
Played 2 games this past Wednesday though... didnt' fare so well - although both teams said I played phenominally..
Chimeras vs. Looking to Score
LTS all they did all night was friggen cherry pick. We lost 4-1. Its been a long time since I had that many goals past me in a game. I don't like that.
Ice Grrls vs. Pirates
Lost 1-0. I was filling in for the Ice Grrls.
Ah well, **** happens.

Yesterday played for my Vikings again. They won last week 4-0 with a sub goalie as I was out on injury. They made my feel very welcome upon my return. I love this team.
So yesterday we played the Ice Pack. Very even game, lots of shots, my D played quite well too. One of my D in particular I thought had a very strong game, so I told her so afterwards. That made her really happy. I always thought of her as a bit of a liability on D, but she really seemed to pull it together and was always in the right spot. Good stuff!
So anyways, it was a scoreless game, both goalies recording a shutout!
Vikings now 4-1-1, 0.4 GAA (personal)

Tonight got to play at the Ricoh Coliseum with my Chimeras team. We won 5-0... so another shutout. I didnt' really have that much work to do though, but the shots i did get were decent ones - not piddely crap.

Vikings won 5-0 yesterday vs. Rinkrats. Despite the score, the game was pretty even as far as action spread over both ends.
This brings my grand shutout total this season so far to 8.
Its becoming painfully obvious that next season I really do have to do a drastic jump up in level. Unfortunately I think this means playing Rep hockey, which is something that I cant exactly afford... and the weekend time it consumes I'm not so hot on. I'm exploring options more east of the city... or maybe I'll just have to start playing with the guys.

Last night got another notch in the W category. Chimeras played the Banshees, we won 2-1. My team really dominated the entire game... I maybe had 4? shots on me all game. Sad I know that the very first one which was a breakaway went in on me.... but I was cold. It was the last game of the night (11:30pm) so they cut our warmup short, and I didnt get my first shot on net until at least the midway of the 2nd period haha. I did do some bfly slides and stuff and some skating drills to try keep me warm... oh well.
I am glad I didn't get a SO last night though, because the other team's goalie was on FIRE. She faced easily at least 30 shots and really was having an amazing game. I know for me when the tables are turned, I dont care if we win or lose, I just don't want the other goalie to get a SO for doing nothing all game heehee.
It was nice for our team to have almost 2 lines for such a late game.

Almost afraid to post it.... but on Sunday got another shutout with the Vikings. Score was 3-0 against the Sharks. This brings my season SO total to 9.
Vikings = 6-1-1 GAA = 0.285 (based on the 7 games I played and 2 goals against)
Next week's game is going to be a doozy though. We're playing against the Hailstones - they are a very good team. Almost half my team isnt going to be there.. but I'm going to enjoy the workout they're going to give me. This is the only team this season so far that has managed to score on me. I'm looking forward to the game, but i wish my whole team would be there!

Congrats on doing so well! Our 10 game winning streak ended this past Sunday, but it was against a B level team...so at least we used it as a learning experience!

Ya quite sure heh.
So, what was the issue with your shoulder? WHY did it take so long to get an appointment with an Orthopedist? Tell me, have you had an MRI with arthrography of your shoulder? I'd bet not.
And in the United States, these people want Socialized Medicine . . . . they have NO IDEA what it takes to get things done in that system.
OBAMA is an ELITIST who would get his health care PRIORITY, AND wouldn't wait in line as would be dictated by the 'system'.

Ive had xrays and ultrasound on my shoulder. Right one has tendonitis and 2 torn tendons. They first sent me to see a sports medicine guy... and all he said was to do more physiotherapy, and if it hurts he can shoot me up with cortisone. Then... months down the road if it still hurts I can explore the surgery option.
So I went to get another referral to see an orthopedic surgeon .. I guess the guy's busy so thats why it took a few weeks to just get the stupid appt.

Less than 2 weeks before my appt. Feels like an eternity that I've waited and still have to wait. Both my shoulders ache so much, my neck, its creeping down my back. Ahhhh this is awesome.

Doc, you're painting with to wide a brush. Not all of us are ready to give up what we've earned. This is about Rockhell’s shoulder, not we the people giving up our freedom of choice. In case you care, I’m opposed to any from of socialize medicine. :D
Rockhell, Go for a permanent fix, it should help keep you in the game longer. Good Luck :)
