Hi,
My daughter went to her first try-outs this year as a goalie. She is 10 years old. There were 3 goalies at the AA try-outs. She was cut at the second last try-out and the team kept both the other goalies. At the A try-outs she was the only goalie till the last try-out when one of the kids that had been there as a player, dressed as a goalie. She was cut. When I asked why she was cut they said, she needed to be "groomed" more. So then I asked if the other girl made the team and they said no. The association said they made a mistake by allowing the AA to take two goalies and will be moving one of the goalies down.
Have you ever heard of a goalie being cut after being told they were on the team?
I know my daughter was definately not qualified to be a AA goalie but she would have been fine at the A level. She is fine with moving down as she has friends so I am not going to file a protest or anything. In all my years of playing I have never heard of a kid being cut afterwards.
