A couple weeks ago I got a sweet deal on a McKenney pro spec CA - guy got it new and only used it about 5 times then selling it.
I love the flexability in the arms, but the protection just isnt nearly as good in the arms as my GKP. Mind you in teh GKP I couldnt touch my head with it on, the McKenney I can. I'll take the mobility.
Its a nice looking unit, too bad its white though cuz its going to look gross in a short time.

is this the newer one thats black and white kinda ? with like red lettering ? I have to admit, The arms of the mckinney units have always left me stingers, and thats even using the 855 units... I loved the chest and the flexibility, but they arent that protective in the arms.

Yup thats the one. I havent had any stingers playing in women's games... i dont play with the guys often enough to worry about it. I can suck it up when I have to lol.

Maybe you could beef it up a bit by adding to it. I have added small pieces in strategic areas such as under the bicep on the catching arm.
Either that or just go for a stake and suck it up.

Our Thurs night goalie wears all McKenney gear (he, Trevor and I rotate around as the goalies for a summer group) I'm not sure what model he has but it looks like a tank. Tons of padding in the arms. Not sure if it's a stock model or custom though.

I've worn alot of McKenney gear (and yeah, Trevor is a great guy) and the regular McKenney C/A is a tank. The only reason I got rid of mine (755 I think) was that it was WAY too big, meaning that everything had much larger proportions on it than is really necessary.
The Pro-Spec is much more towards my liking. Actually, if you take the 852 chest/shoulder floaters and put the Pro-Spec arms and shoulder flaps on it, I think you'd have a fantastic C/A.
