I should receive my C/A unit from Scott any day now. That unit will complement the "Hawk" pads and gloves I got in June. Every time I go to the rink, I absolutely get torqued about having to stuff my awesome Battram gear in a TPS bag. I wish Scott would offer wheeled units that could be color matched to the gear we buy from him. Adding the ability to embroider one's name would be another plus.

If Scott ever wants to give it a go, I am willing to "sacrifice" and be one of those who buys an early model. All of you in favor of Battram bags say "AYE". LOL

That would actually be really cool, but i think the market is screaming for the sickest, wickedest set of knee pads ever, i haven't found any worth a crap...

As cool as it would be for Scott to make a bag, knee pads, pants or neck protectors. You have to remember it's his name on the company, so he decides what is made. I'm sure if anything new was in the works, he would let us know.

Have you tried the PAW kneepads Sara makes? I've heard nothing but great things about them. You can find them here:

And as for the bag this has been discussed many times and it just wouldn't be cost effective for Scott to make them. It's the same reason he doesn't make pants. He would spend more money in man hours and materials creating the product than he could sell it for.

Instead of or in addition to a wheeled bag how about nap sack style bag.

I recently purchased at nap sack style hockey bag. After lugging it around a few times this week, I am happy that I bought it. I find that it's easier to maneuver around in some of the arenas, especially the ones that manual doors, narrow hallways and steps.

I would never expect Scott to manufacture much of the bag. I could see him buying a quality bag off-shore, maybe adding a custom panel to make the bag truly unique.

The point of the bag is not necessarily for Scott to make a ton of money off of them. Having his logo floating around arenas all over the world is a massive marketing push that would hopefully generate equipment sales for him. And I think that is where his money is made (deservedly so!).

I certainly hope that Scott never considers buying something offshore and slapping his name on it. I consider Scott's gear to be top notch because I know it's made by him and will last.

I am all for someone taking the goalie bag business by storm... (if that's even possible!). All my bags have sucked... I've been modestly happy with the current bag that I've purchased 2 of from Costco. It's the team Canada bag for $50, fits everything but the pads with ease and has lasted me well.

I would consider paying more for a REALLY well made bag on the level of some samsonite luggage or similar, we'll see if that ever happens in my life time

If I remember correctly Sara from PAW and someone else are working on creating a high quality bag.

Last I heard they were getting together to build up a prototype I believe.

I once played hockey with a guy who had a Military equipment bag, this thing he said was 10 years old and still looked new, if you can find one of those, I think you might have a hockey back for life... it wasnt anything fancy, but it held all his stuff, and was made much better than any hockey bag I have ever seen, and best of all, the zipper wasnt broken! haha

For my player gear I use a WWII duffel bag, the green one with the arm strap. It's held up for over 50 years so far! :D Actually, my neighbor's husband passed away and she was throwing out everything that was his. I nabbed all his photography equipment, art supplies, dremels with bits, tools, and the duffel. Her trashcan was a gold mine for me!

We are working on the bag design but not getting too far at the moment as I am kinda busy, but I am slowing down enough now that I might be able to get some material out and have a go at it... it seems like nothing happens fast in my life...

The zipper handle was first to go on my Vaughn wheeled goalie bag...seems to be the Achillies heel of them! :p

Yeah! Those stupid little tabs on zippers tend to go first. When that happens, I usually go to a novelty store and look to find the keyring with the biggest ring possible. That ring then becomes the new pull tab for the zipper. They are much better than any original tab I have ever seen.
