I have now received my equipment. It looks great and I have strapped them on in my living room and they feel very comfortable but will have to play around with the straps a little to perfect the fit which I know will happen after a few ice times.
I actually get to play this weekend and can't wait. I'll write up a more detailed review after that.
Later!

I have a 5001 trapper and Verge blocker, I've had them since October and they are easily the best gloves i've ever used and i've owned many..

When i first opened the box I was blown away, the colors matched My rbk pads perfectly and right out of the box they were practically game ready. It took a few ice times and a little sweat just to get that nice sound when the finger and thumb areas smack together :)

The blocker of course is a blocker but it's perfectly balanced, very protective in the thumb and finger areas, I do feel the odd slapper to the top of the hand but it's nothing that makes you say ouch..

I also have to say that the materials scott uses are the finest i've seen, it dries quickly, and also you'll notice that it's snug without being restictive and suffocating to the hands, I haven't had the pleasure of using any of scotts pads (that's next, if the girlfriend permits :) however I do have a C/A on the way, which I cannot wait to see, everytime I have a package coming from battram its like christmas.. congrats on the purchase you definitely made an awesome choice..

Well it's been about a week since I actually went out on the ice but I didn't have internet access until now...
The equipment felt great, mobility was great but have to do something about the top straps, the top of the pad sometimes gets caught in the top strap when I go out to play a puck and I trip over myself so some adjusting is in order, thank god I wasn't playing in an actual game...

Lateral mobility and recoveries are really easy with these pads, I was really impressed, it was weird to have the flat bottom of the pad at first but I quickly got used to it, I'll really like these once I get used to them.

The blocker and trapper are great, my hands were hurting by the end of the ice time but that is to be expected with a new set of gloves, they were getting a lot softer by the end of the ice time.

The biggest problem I was having had nothing to do with my new Battram gear. I got a new cage put on my helmet because the old one was rusting. The new cage is white and I think that is affecting my vision a little bit, maybe the wires aren't spaced the same way my old cage was but I had problems with visibility, I hope I get used to it quickly because I can't really afford a new mask right now...

My deceptor inlines have seen too many ice and roller games to count anymore. The things are tanks and except for some slight fraying on my slide plate cording and some puck marks they are still practically new when I have had them for a few years now. 3 to be exact I think. Will be 4 in Feb though.

I have both had and used other pads in the past as well as seeing most of my friends pads. Most pads do not take the beating of a mixed surface life. Going from ice to roller kills pads but I find that my deceptors have long outlived other pads playing about the same amount of game time. Great all around investment and I know you will love them for years to come.

I have had my Deceptor Inlines over 4 years and they are still going strong. I average at least 3X a week inline plus at leat 1X use on ice. For ice, I actually switched over from my Vaughn Velocities since I am more comfortable in these pads.

They are starting to show some wear but I think I can get another 2 years out of them (at least).
