Oh, you silly goose. Bamboo is used to make bulletproof vests, grills, truck chassis... es, and bank vaults... and steel. ;):D
In all seriousness, my biggest concern would be its continued durability after being struck by many shots since cycling helmets and hockey masks require different protective properties.
