Well, yesterday I took a ride down to meet Phil Maltese...
My fascination with gel originally occured from all the positive reviews his collars had seen and the fact the gel passed the first time in a Hecc test...Was nothing to scoff at...I made a person decision that I'd like to try it.
I decided the best course of action was to put the gel in my Pro's Choice...I'm not afraid to try anything...Least of all when it's a well placed innovation.
First impressions:
Phil is a very honest, hard working guy and the product he offers is one of very high quality.
First impressions were very good...The gel has a very nice outer encasing and is very squishy...Comfortable is an understatement.
The Gel Vs Foam thread, some of the "facts" Stacey points out in regards to the differences...Seeing and feeling the gel alone, dispel the majority of these...The gel really speaks for itself.
On the ice:
I'm extremely impressed...Got hit with a few sticks...Definitely improved the harmonics of the mask, much less ringing than before (with foam)...
Even got beamed once or twice and barely felt a thing.
I found the gel to be much more comfortable than foam...Although my mask was .65lbs heavier...It was well worth the weight...(Still less than a Hackva!) ~
I feel more than confident this gel would/will protect me at any level of play...Like I said, after taking a few shots...I feel more protected than I would of that in a foam.
Dom does have a very good foam, it's a percfect fit and has more than done it's job...Being a "innovator" however, I took the opportunity to try the gel.
In closing, it took Itech over 20 tries to pass a certification test...It took Sportmask over 7...I don't believe Stacey has ever tried 0 (Thus the further curiosity surrounding his "facts" about Hecc)...It took Phil Maltese, 1 try with a Sportmask and they don't test the shell.
I will continue to "test" the gel and keep you all updated; but, I can say with great confidence and enthusiasm; I love it.

Being a "innovator" however, I took the opportunity to try the gel.
Innovator (noun): one who introduces something new; makes changes in anything established
Exactly how are you an innovator? Aside from your secret identity as a semi-pro goaltender, what original idea have you ever come up with?
Seriously, all you did was buy a product someone else innovated. You are full of yourself.

Musselhead, you are just a gift to mankind and the human species...You truly are 100% correct no matter the situation!
By "innovator" and putting it in quotes, I mean fan of innovation...When a word like that is in quotations, it typically means, at least in this very case; that I'm mocking you! GO FIGURE?!?! Congratulations for catching on! Have a cookie.
So, I was able to test out the gel some more today and I must say, the fit is second to none and it feels very cool...almost like an aloe sensation but, it warms and "expands" a bit too.
I'm suprised nobody else has really tried this yet in a Pro's Choice ~ Can't wait to take a real shot w/the gel!
Kudos again to Phil for making an amazing product

Sorry Masked,
I hate to say it, but you're lookin' like a little whiney bitch with the constant pokes at Stacey and Tony. Why don't you just drop it already?????
All credibility of an otherwise decent review on the gel is lost.
Either come out with the whole entire story so the accused can properly defend themselves or shut the F up.
I'm not even involved in whatever crap is going on, or went on in the past and am trying hard to stay neutral - check any of my posts - I am usually quite supportive, friendly and thoughtful but you are making the horns come out...

I actually didn't poke at anyone...
I stated an objective fact...
A Hecc test is based on the "foam" inside of a mask...not the mask, itself.
I didn't actually knock anyone with that...
Phil's test was done with a Sportmask...The facts are stated and supported there.
You're not actually contributing anything to this review so, unless you have something to contribute...The door is a very useful "innovation".
<Edit> In fact, if you're going to be an asshole about it, I challenge you to find 1 fact in that post NOT provided within these forums besides the # of Hecc test results...You won't find one because Stacey provided the information on Stacey, the test results are a proven fact...I don't see a single non fact there...So, move along if you're going to be arbitrary please.

Actual fact of the matter is that they can not test without a shell, or a cage, the foam or gel, straps etc, etc, etc
They don't test prototypes with options and considerations of future tweaks and changes.
They test the final production model. That usually includes a shell. I'll use that door now.

I honestly don't care if you comment as long as it's something objective...I didn't insult anyone with that post, only provided facts they, themselves offered forth; here...and I'm accused of "whining"...Did you NOT catch my "truce"? ~ ONE of us honored it, I think it's time you reassess; who.
This thread is about Maltese gel in a Pro's Choice helmet and the results of said "experiment" ~ If you have anything else to say that happens to be arbitrary, I ask that you take it elsewhere...
Thanks.

alright. I'm sick of this and it's ending now. This is not open for discussion. this is not open for debate.

this was all fine
The Gel Vs Foam thread, some of the "facts" Stacey points out in regards to the differences...Seeing and feeling the gel alone, dispel the majority of these...The gel really speaks for itself.
The second you used a name of someone, and put "facts" in quotations you started ropping names and attempted to portray someone negative.
and the fact you felt the need again to drop a name with this
..I don't believe Stacey has ever tried 0 (Thus the further curiosity surrounding his "facts" about Hecc)... and again start talking about him like he knows nothing and you know everything
here's some facts from us:
we know that Stace is a manufacturer of hockey goalie helmets who has been selling goal masks for many years. he has insider information regarding his PROFESSION therefore he can be taken as a professional in regards to Mask manufacturing. is he going to be always right? I can't say so, but it's our onus to check for ourselves.
You on the other hand have no accredations to your name. You claim to play and know personally many NHL goalies and practice with them regularly. You claim that you're an expert in mask construction because you play paintball. You won't tell us who you are if you're someone of note, and you've done NOTHING but drop names on who you know and how good you are. Yet won't own up to it. You've started drama for no reason and have kept pushing buttons by being extremely narcissistic (I think Stace confuses the word Megalomania for this), but it's what you are. Extremely Narcissistic and it's rubbing people the wrong way.
THis is your Last, and only warning. No more dropping names just to "discredit" or to boost your own ego.
SImply put. it's put up, Or shut up time. Either you let us know WHY we should be listening to you over people who are professionals in the field (Give us some name and or accredations) or relax, and rethink the way you are addressing people. cause i'm tired of having people question ME about why your still here
