After having my TPS R8 bag for a few years, it grew a few holes from wear and tear and became a magnet for my cat to pee on it.... so on Wednesday I accidently found myself in Majer Hockey and walking out with this lovely piece of work.
I've read really good reviews on the bag so I think I made a good choice. I like that the fabric feels fairly heavy duty, that there's no vinyl sections to split and tear (like a sherwood I had) and that the bag itself is just one big compartment with a mesh zipper pocket on the top flap.
It measures 40 x 20 x 20 (so they said at the store) and thats just dandy with me. My TPS was too big, so to go down to this more compact size is nice. It fits all my gear in there (pads too) comfortably and still zips up with ease.
Only thing I'll miss over the TPS is the type of wheels they put on this. The TPS had bigger - almost knobby type wheels with some traction that spun easily. The wheels on this Brians look like cheap rollerblade wheels that have el-crapo bearings. They won't keep spinning if you give it a flick.
The retractable handle I can get used to. Its not necessary really though because there's handles on this bag EVERYWHERE. That is awesome. It makes it easy to pick up in all sorts of awkward positions and throw in the back of my car (subaru station wagon). I've yet to use the stick straps, but it'll probably get lots of use this coming weekend as I'll be playing in a tournament.
So far - I'm happy with it. I think it'll last me quite a while.
