This set is about 8-10 years old. Mind you, this was my second set of Battrams. Being that it's very latein the evening, I'm just going to post the photos.

I just recently gave this set away to a friend. This is probably one of the most "unique" custom sets Scott probably ever put together; and arguable one of the oldest ever posted on this board. And because I had such a sentimental attachment to this set, I'd thought I'd post pictures of it.

Because I had so many pics, I decided to keep this off the "show off your Battram" thread and post it in it's own.

I'll explain some of this sets unique features as people comment.

Here's a set probably just as old. Althought I bought them second hand they were the best set I've ever had, which is why I just ordered another set.

That catcher looks very strange.

They look like they've held up pretty well though - a testament to the quality of Scott's work. If your friend wanted, I'm sure Scott or Sara (PAW) could fix them up to last another 10 - 15 years.

That catcher looks very strange.
1) It's huge. With the cheater, it has about a 48-49 inch radius on it.

2) Note the pocket. It has an "anchor" pocket, similar to the Brian's Air glove, which was top of the line at the time. Also note how it kinda collapses on itself. This is one of the reasons Scott no longer uses these kind of pockets anymore. Although, the advantage of this pocket is that there are absolutely no pop-out. Once a puck enters the pocket, it will never come out. Not one puck in all those years.

3) The back of the hand is mainly cordura nylon. Because the glove was so large, I asked Scott to put on cordura to shave some weight. However, it was still a heavy glove. But the bulk made it so I never felt a shot.

4) The main part of the backhand which was not cordura was the finger protector. However, you'll see that the logo is considerably smeared. This is when Scott used a heat transfer logo. You'll also see that these logos didn't last on the leg pads as well.

5) I also like how the "Aircore Technology" logo still stayed on the cordura though. Maybe there was something to this "aircore" stuff after all

6) Also note the spot near the "heel" of the glove on the front. That's wear from the friction which was caused between stick and glove whenever I stick handled. I'm surprised more older gloves didn't have this same wear on them, since these gloves came out before the "stick heel" became standard on all catch gloves.

My first set of Battram's looked very similar. I had the wave graphic, and the knee rolls were different. My blocker have a funky curve to it. My glove was the same except the color scheme. I sold them on eBay a couple years ago. I think mine were bought in 1998. I'd post pics but I am terrible with computers and don't even know where to start.
I got Cyclones in 2001. And I just now replaced the Cyclones with a Nexus set.
Those old Bold pads were great, but compared to my Cyclones they weighed 100 lbs. And the Nexus pads are even lighter than my Cyclones. The new technology is crazy!

Those old Bold pads were great, but compared to my Cyclones they weighed 100 lbs. And the Nexus pads are even lighter than my Cyclones. The new technology is crazy!Yeah, these pads were very heavy. The catch glove alone is three times the weight of my current glove.

However, I must admit, though they weighed more, they had many more advantages than my newer gear. First of all, the rebounds off these pads is very small. Most pucks died at my feet. Whereas rebounds off my current set bounce out 5 times as far. It took me a while to get used to that.

Also, my current glove is a Velo 1 clone. Though it's incredibly light, I get a ton of pop-outs. In the glove photographed above, it was a "puck motel"...pucks went in, but they never came out. As I said about the pocket, not one pop-out in nearly 10 years.
