I put my order for a set of Battram goalie pads in last friday and have a production start date of Feb 11. I am having a very hard time picking which pad will be best for me as there is no way of try a set on, so with that being said maybe a few of you guys could give some input on my questions (I am sure my e-mails are driving Scott and Tischa crazy). I should note I am coming from a Koho 570.

My main question is about the thickness of the Nexus and Fury pad, they both seem very thin, I would worry they would want to flip on there face when in the butterfly.

I have tried on the Vaughn V3 and really liked it, but I like the idea of having a custom pad, helping out a smaller company and not paying for an NHL to wear pads.

I have spent a lot of time looking at pads and reading almost all the review on this forum and the Deceptor seems like it is a little more like my current pad and the V3 that I like. Is 6lbs heavy for a pad?

Well thanks for your input!

Chakal should answer this question for you...Currently he is probably the only goalie other than myself who has seen all the models from Verge (which is basically the same as the Deceptor) right to the Nexus... and has also played in the Nexus as well. From what I have heard from him, the Nexus is the best of them all! I am sure Ryano will be coming in soon for a Nexus set! haha Then he will have probably owned every Battram model ever made!

Dont be freaked out by the thin profile, it is somewhat of an illusion on the Nexus, as the knee and calf system will add the the thickness and provide stability...

You won't need to worry about this, definitely not an issue. :)

as far as the Fury's are concerned. Thickness is not an issue as the pads rotate wonderfully.

Can anyone tell me how tick each pad is on the side that will hit the ice?

can't tell ya for certain as pads are in the car and i'm at work

but fury's near the top of the rise is probably about 2 - 4". and by the boot 3 - 5". Scott might be more certain

but thats just the pad, the landing gear also goes on the ice beghind it

The pad isn't kept perpendicualr to the ice by the thickness of the pad, it's kept perpendicular by the way they are strapped to your leg.
