OK, I've given this thing several games, and thought it was time for a proper review. I'm not going to include photos, there's no mods to my NuttyBuddy, and you can see it at www.nuttybuddy.com.

Customer service/shipping time - Perfect. They got it sent out immediately, the order was exactly right, and no problems at all in purchasing.

Construction - Perfect. No flaws in the cup, no problems. If aesthetics are important to you in a cup, you'll be happy.

Comfort - No issues noted. Initially, I felt like it was going to slip out, and I was nervous as hell with this thing. However, 2 minutes into the game and it felt normal, and I kind of forgot about it. Mobility is improved significantly, it is definitely less of a hindrance to movement than the Matrix.

Protection - This is where it gets a bit subjective and more dependent on the other gear you wear. I took a few shots to the cup, and there were no issues on direct hits. Couldn't feel the shots at all, although the sound is different than the Matrix unit. However when I got hit above the cup, that's where the issues started. Without the normal goalie cup, the area above the boys was open, and I got a nice little bruise that looked like a hickey. In my opinion, you can't wear this as the only piece of protection, unless your pants covers that area really well.

I have gone back to the Matrix cup. I think the NuttyBuddy is a good unit, but overall I feel more protected in the Matrix. The lack of protection provided by the V2 & V3 pants makes it a bit dangerous to wear the NuttyBuddy alone.

Final overview - Great cup, for the right application. Goaltending isn't that application.

Not to be outdone I received a major bruise that I only wish could have been hickeys. I think hroark2112 jinxed me, I have used this cup in over 30 games with excellent results until the game after reading this review & WHAM!!!. right on the top part of the cup.

I had no injury or discomfort to the boys only this really deep bruise just above where it normally sits. Since I am from the old days where were we were normally covered in these bruises from head to toe it did not bother me that much but was really annoying. Especially after giving it such a good review

I am still wearing it though as it is great protection for the boys, but I have resurrected my old miller & I wear that rather loosely overtop to protect the bruised area.

I just got mine today, and will wear it tomorrow. I'm really not sure whether I'll try it with or without a goalie cup overtop. Probably without, as the whole point of getting one was to reduce bulk in the groin area.

Plus, I've been married 10 years and have had a vasectomy. What am I protecting anymore?;)

as the whole point of getting one was to reduce bulk in the groin area. Is that even possible for you?

Plus, I've been married 10 years and don't have sex anymore, so what am I protecting anyway? A more likely scenario.

I LOVE this thing. I ordered the biggest size (Mongo) but I wish they had one bigger size. I'm bald, hearing impaired, and have ADHD, but God compensated in other areas.;) Seriously, a little bigger and the turtle could watch the game.

I've taken two direct hits, absolutely sure my Canadian Idol odds had gone up. Nope. Nothing.

My oversized Tacklas, with my Itech Prodigy Pro c/a tucked in, protects the lower ab region, so everything works in conjunction.
