What would you recommend to someone who's used to playing with a Vaughn Velo style pad? I'm thinking about getting a new pair of pads (I love the Velos, but I'm the third owner and they're starting to show a bit of wear) to replace mine. Glowing praise from users and my own happiness with my Battram gloves means that I'm completely open to a set of Battram pads as well.

Right now it looks like possibly the Cyclone would be my best option. It looks to be fairly similar to what I'd be used to.

Battram Cyclone. Also, the Deceptor pads are upgraded Cyclones and the Verge are upgraded from the Deceptor and then you got the Fury at the last link of the chain.

I was wondering that myself. So, taking the V2 and V3 changes into account, the Cyclone is still the closest? Or do we move further down "the chain"?

If you want something very similar, as Chakal has said go with the Cyclone, but, if you are open to try what in my opinion is a better pad, go with the Fury (or if you would like to take advantage of our Summer Sale, the Deceptor pad) just get the square vertical roll on the Deceptor, or add knee rolls to the Fury (this wont work with all graphic layouts though (rounded knees are not always freiendly to graphics). In the end you will have a nice alternative to the Cyclone, in a pad that still will fit, feel and perform very similar to the V1 pad!
