Got these back in August of Last year, have now used them about 20 times I think...so I think its fair to give a review. I ordered them with the Smitty break because I knew that with that extra bend it would help seal up the 5 hole issue that I have.... which it has... but in all reality, I am now happy that sometimes I dont have a complete seal, because with my thigh boards if the puck goes through, it stops and no one can push the puck through because of the extended knee blocks. At first the boot was stiff, which is normal for RBK/Koho pads... The double break though made these more flexible than any other pad I have had in the past...which is a lot of different kinds.
I ordered them with a taller thigh rise than most people would, but again, due to my narrow fly it's what works FOR ME. pads are a 34+3.
price was great at the time of purchase, as I normally only order on the goalie demo day which is coming up again this weekend....
durability is good... no rips, tears, cuts, or loose stiching...
comfortable now as they have been broken in.
pics attached.

Sharp looking set! I am glad the 34+3 worked for you as i would go with the same size.

yes they worked for me. I now honestly think I could have gotten away with a 34+2 or 2.5 but these are working well for me. It took a little getting used to, but they dont bother me now when I skate.... nor when I go down, I changed my game and stance up just a little to accomodate, and so far so good.

I think that if I didn't go for RBK directly, I'd have to find someone who could produce a similar style pad.
My butterfly is a little narrow for the Demon's I use, so these would be ideal I think.
Handily, Scott said he can produce similar breaks on Nexus pads :D

Yes, Scott can make you something similar, check with BoltThrower and Sprawl, they can give you the info on what they got done. I believe Ryano got something like this, but I can't remember..... Scott's will defiinately be more reasonably priced and more personable to you, other mods, colors, name on pads etc.... Scott will treat you right !

Smitty break is a Turco break, no?
If my knowledge of this matter is subpar, BAN me then. Just BAN me already! Oh wait, this isn't ****.

Smitty break is Turco break yes....
Smitty had it first, but then magically no one really noticed till Turco had it... so they deemed it Turco break !

Phew! I thought I was the only sheltered one! Bateman good thing you had the "fortitude" to ask about the Turco vs. Smitty break. Me thought I was the only dummy here.
My son has PSII' 8K's INT's, 30+1 stocks, no custom mods. He's used them around 20 times and is pretty happy with them. They were a steal at $280 CDN (new! :))
His biggest peeve has been extra ankle flap. He was used to wearing his old Bauer Cujos extremely loose and the flap on the RBK has a tendency to move and get wedged on the opposite side and annoying him to no end. After finally telling me what was the issue, I suggested going a little tighter to prevent the flap from rolling over. Problem solved and he's having fun with them.
One thing I have noticed about his pads is that they rebound a lot harder than the Bauer's , so he has some adjusting to do. But the only way he'll learn what they do, is to play in them.
My only quality concern is that they are made offshore. Another fellow goalie parent, has a similar pair and in one season of travel (3-4 times/week) the JenPro (I think that's the name of the material) bottoms wore out and some of the stuffing was coming out. Luckily there is an authorized RBK repair shop nearby and the costs are not so bad for repairs. But, with a track record of only getting maybe 2 years out my son's pads before he outgrows them, I'm not that concerned.
When the exponential growth slows down, we will start seriously looking at the Battrams and let his creativity run wild!
Cheers!

The material on the offshore products will not be Jenpro... they are using synthetics akin to industrial grade vinyl.
Jenpro costs around 50 bucks a yard, in order to sell some of the stuff for as cheap as these companies are, the material costs will be need to be less than a quarter of the price paid in stores. Since if you pay 400 in the store, the store has probably paid about 320 from the distributor who likely has paid about 250 from the company whos brand is on the gear which has purchased the pad from the asian factory for probably less than 100 bucks.

So what you are saying is that the RBK's are the Dixie Cups of goalie pads? Use 'em and throw them away?
From what you're saying is that when then start wearing, it will cost more to repair than what I paid for, correct?

i think the buy use toss idea only applies to the pads made offshore not the high end pads

My pads were not made in China, maybe the 8k Int's the other guy spoke of were...
