Recieved my set of Fury pads and Nexus gloves back in february, and have been using them basically once a week since then.

Everything is NHL spec.

Fury Pads Black/White/Bronze Weave
Mods: +1 thighrise, knee rolls
Pros: They rotate great, look great, you don't feel any shots
Cons: Scott talked me out of all leather straps. I wish he hadnt as the buckles for the clips on the nylon straps unstrap themselves numerous times. Even after wrapping a bunch of tape around them. He must be using Houdini brand clips!
Huge rebounds. I don't know if this is because of the pads or my technique so if anyone else with fury pads can chime in that'd be nice.

Nexus Catcher
Originally didn't like it because it fit loose but I got it working great.
Pros: Fits great after a bunch of messing with all the strapping options
Cons: These aren't really cons but they're not pros either. I recieved a (very tiny)stinger yesterday, only because of a lucky shot straight at the break in the glove where padding is weakest.
Still stiff and tough to break in.
Velcro strap is wearing through the material under one of the gloves flaps.

Nexus Blocker
Pros: Very protective. I think Scott made the glove part from a tracing of my hand. Fits very well. It hurt my fingers just from using since the palm part of the glove is so stiff but after a few games that went away.
Cons: Very hard to lift up my mask and drink while wearing the glove. :D Blocker graphic doesn't look as good as it should due to there being no binding on the blocker. Few loose threads hanging around inside the glove.

Conclusion: Very protective, well built gear that looks great. Wish I had leather straps, though. I feel very confident when I play in this gear and I will order from Battram again when it's time for a new set.

HUGE CON: LOGOS!!
There are logos EVERYWHERE on this gear and I dont know how to get them off. 5 logos on the glove alone, and five on each pad. Are you serious? Logos on the calf wings! Come on!

Next set I'll get the fewer logos mod.

Edward,
I am wearing the Fury pad and I've found them to be very "rebound negative". They seen to almost eat up pucks like velcro.

Also, Scott will send you leather straps I believe. All you need to install them is to remove the buckles from the nylon strap, tape the leather strap to the nylon strap and pull it through.

I also was unhappy with the quick release straps... I made a post about this last week. However I was the one who asked for the quick release straps so I have nothing to complain about. I have got my pads converted to leather straps at my a local place. I don't have any problem with rebound control but then again i do strap my pads on relatively loose (but not sloppy loose). That helps with deadening the rebound.

I got my set (Fury pads and Nexus gloves as well) a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to use them for ice and inline before writting a review. Here goes:

First off, Scott and his crew were a pleasure to deal with. He was very easy to get a hold of, answered all of my questions and offer great advise on what would work for me.

The pads. The lightest I've ever owned. They were really flexible out of the box. Alot of strap options, but I was able to set them up pretty much the same as my old pads (Simmons Ultralite 2) pretty quickly. I like to strap the pads the same way for ice and inline so I don't use the toe bridge at all. The 2 boot straps are a big improvement for me. I got excellent rotation for both ice and inline. I have to agree with EdwardL, I got huge rebounds off the pads, especially playing inline (probably due to the lighter puck). But, I don't really play a butterfly style, more splits and kick saves. So the extra bounce off into a corner isn't really a bad thing for me. About the only problem I've had is one of the nylon strap buckles came undone during an inline game. I've seen that mentioned a few times on different threads. I only have them on the top 2 straps and some tape took care of the problem. Oh, the other thing, the pads seem to trap much more heat in than my old pads. Not a problem on ice, but inline is a different story.

Overall 9.75 out of 10

Blocker: Super light and very comfortable. Excellent stick control. The palm is a little thicker than I would like but I'm already getting use to it. Again, the puck seem to jump off it a little quicker than my Simmons blocker, but I feel that's more a positive thing.

Overall 10 out of 10

Catch glove: Right out of the box I thought the glove was real stiff and would be hard to break in. Here I was pleasantly suprised. I wore it around the house just opening and closing it for a few days and even played a little catch out in the street with it. By the time I got out on the ice I had no problems catching. It still feels "new", but shots in the palm or webbing stuck with no popouts. Again, the palm is a little thicker than I'd like and it make things a bit tougher when I turn over and shoot righty. It's definitly a comfortable glove and has more strap options for a better fit than any other glove I've used. There are a couple of things I did notice however. 1st, the glove doesn't close completely. The gap is up in the T section, so I don't know if it will close more as it breaks in. Also, there is a large gap when putting my palm down on the ice to cover a loose puck. The gap is definitly large enough for the puck to slip freely if bumped. Again, I don't know if this is an issue that will get better with break in.

Overall: 8 out of 10

As for the set as a whole, I'm very happy with everything. I will certainly order from Scott again. The gear is light, comfortable, protective, and looks awesome.

In my game the other day I was in the butterfly not moving and a slapper hit my knee/thigh rise area and just shot back out to the slot like a cannon so now I'm sure it's the pads. I still love them, though.

Hello Everyone!!!!
Just purchased my first set of Battram equipment. Verge pads & nexus glove set. They are built but being shipped right now. Custom graphix. Can't wait to see them! Hope I don't have rebound trouble with them!! My dad ordered them & talked with Scott a few times before ordering. So I am sure they would not steer me wrong! As for the snap straps. I gave them up in Pee Wee. They came undone to easy & break easy also.
Thanks.

Looking for the bulletin board??????? Help.

You're in the bulletin board so I'm not sure what it is that you can't find.

As for quick release straps and buckles, there is nothing wrong with them. I've used them on a number of different pads with little trouble and there has definitely not been any problems with them coming undone nor breakage.

The buckles are extremely cheap and easy to replace

I've had zero issues with my quick release buckles now after more than a year of use.
