So come September, I will be donning the cap of a Student once again.

Throwing all caution to the wind i have applied to universities, and for the first time in my life, Been accepted by several.

After considerations, including location, Costs and living, I've decided that i'm leaving the T.Dot region and moving out.

Destination...

St Catharines, Ontario.

4 years of making me a learn'ed man! Honours In Psychology which is a teachables, in hope to get my Bachellor's of Education.

The one thing I did not take into consideration with this is Hockey. Where will i play? I will not give it up, I Shant give it up.

How is the hockey in St Kitts? Where should I even begin to look? Guess finding a place to live might be best, But hey, Hockey is important too!

Got any hookups or places to start asking around for games? 1 or 2 pickup games a week is a minimum. I'll be coming from 5 - 7 last year, and can't imagine playing less!

I play with two weekly pickup groups one in Niagara Falls the other in Virgil both very close to St. Kitts. We do have regular goalies but my list of contacts to call when we need a fill in can never be big enough. I'll talk to you about it on the weekend.

Hey Sprawlie,

First off, loose the Saint bit :) there's no Saints down here. It's just St. lol.. You can start withte Setmour Hannah Centre (St Catherines 4 Pad). A bunch of leagues run out of it and most post at the rink.

The city site for it is: http://www.stcatharines.ca/recreation/rec_af_arenas_arenaprograms.asp
It's a pretty crappy site, but should give you a place to start.

Also, will you be bringing a car down with you? If you are, you'll have a lot more options to play throughout the region (Niagara Falls, Thorold, Welland as well as St.Kitts) You can pretty much get to all the rinks inthe region within 20 to 30 minutes.

The hockey scene is pretty good overall, so you shouldn't have too big of a problem getting some ice.

Ditto to Wellsie's "Alumnus Status"
... go, young Sprawlie, and be a proud Badger.

But first, FFS, learn how to spell the name of the place you're going to get edumacated in!!!!!!

St. Catharines.

See Wellsie... they let anyone in, not to mention the clowns they let represent the student body!:eek:

:D;)

ps... all the best, Sprawlie. They had intramurals there when I went. Lots of crappy old barns too.

I think www.canadiangoalies.com (http://www.canadiangoalies.com) is a network for teams looking for goalies and goalie looking for teams. Like Jase said, this is Canada man, you aints gonna have a problem.

Depending on your skill level, you may want to check with their club sports office. They may have a club level team you may be eligable for.

The City of St. Catharines (http://www.stcatharines.ca/recreation/rec_af_arena_sportsplex.asp)

Call the four pad rink and ask them who runs leagues and when open pick up is. I have no groups that need keepers right now but if you PM me contact info I can never have enough other goalies to try and call when I need a fill in for my Tuesday and Thursday groups.

.
If you're in St Catharines you might as well take up rowing :D

80% of the team during college was from there - an evil bunch for sure :p

Good luck with school.

Rowers = 6'4" and lean.
Sprawl = well.... you know.

Have a tumble down the escarpment for me, Sprawl!:p

Seriously, though... sign up for dry land training with the hockey Badgers. Great workout and then 2 a days on ice. You will at least meet some players that way. I believe they accept anyone for dryland. Asking someone to tie your skates, however, may not get you far.

Intramural league was OK, but that was ummm..... +/- 15 yrs ago.:(
